Honoring Our Resident & Author Marilyn Funt

At Fort Tryon, every resident has a story worth celebrating. This month, we proudly honored not only our published author Marilyn Funt, but all of the remarkable individuals who make our community so special.

A beautiful display featured Marilyn Funt’s books, Are You Anybody? and Grounds for Marriage, highlighting her incredible accomplishments as an author. Her work reflects talent, dedication, and a lifetime of meaningful experiences. Seeing her published books on display reminded us that within our community are artists, writers, leaders, dreamers, and trailblazers.

At the same time, we celebrated the stories and legacies of all our residents. From lifelong careers to personal achievements, from family milestones to creative talents, each resident carries a history that deserves recognition. Our Black History Month board and displays of love and leadership served as powerful reminders that greatness lives in everyday lives and personal journeys.

The celebration was not just about books or displays. It was about honoring identity, resilience, creativity, and the rich lives that continue to inspire those around us. Moments like these strengthen our sense of pride and connection as a community.
