We recently celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month here at Fort Tryon. National Hispanic Heritage Month is a time for people to celebrate Hispanic and Latino Americans, and their contribution to preserving their heritage and culture. This month of celebration begins every September 15th as it also coincides with the Independence Day of five Latin American Countries. It ends on October 15.
As a majority of our staff are Hispanic, and we do have a Hispanic community among our residents, we only thought that it was fitting for us to celebrate! For this event, we decided to cook some dishes inspired from Hispanic cuisine. We also had a performer come in and perform some tunes for us.
