Bingo, Ducks, and Hibachi: A Look at Everyday Life Here

Not every good day needs a theme or a banner. Sometimes it’s just a game of bingo, a duck to pet, or a hot meal cooked right in front of you.

Animal Therapy

A parrot perched on a shoulder, tilting its head and studying the room. A duck getting gently petted mid conversation, calm under careful hands. Visiting handlers brought their animals through, moving from resident to resident, and the reactions said it all, wide smiles, careful hands, a few thumbs up, and more than one resident leaning in for a closer look.

Zumba

Music on, instructor up front, and a room full of residents moving however their bodies let them, seated, standing, arms only, whatever works that day. The instructor calls out moves and demonstrates from the front, adjusting the pace and energy to match the room, and residents follow along at their own speed.

Bingo

Boards out, snacks open, eyes locked on the numbers. Bingo never gets old around here. Someone calls out the numbers, red markers slide into place one by one, and the room goes quiet with concentration between calls. There’s always a full room, always someone one number away, and always a little cheer when a card fills up.

Hibachi Night

Our kitchen team brought the hibachi grill right into the room, noodles and vegetables sizzling on the flat top, chefs in tall black hats working quickly with spatulas and tongs while residents watched and waited. The smell alone drew people over before the first plate was even served.

Residents gathered at long tables set with white cloths, plates filling up with fresh grilled noodles, vegetables, and protein straight off the griddle. It was dinner and a show, and everyone left full.
