Everyone Loves Taking a Trip Out

Some of our favorite days are the ones where residents get to leave the building, or at least feel like they have.

A Trip to Fort Tryon Park

On a beautiful afternoon, we took a group of residents out to nearby Fort Tryon Park. Wheelchairs lined up along the garden paths, bubbles floated through the air, and residents posed together for a group photo right at the park’s entrance sign. Staff and one of our teen volunteers helped guide the group along, making sure everyone got a chance to enjoy the greenery and fresh air.

Passports Ready for Travel Adventures

Not every trip requires leaving the building. For our Travel Adventures activity, residents explored the Everglades from their seats, flipping through a travel brief packed with facts about Florida and posing proudly with their own paper passports, stamped and ready to go. It turned into quite the photo op, with residents holding up their passports for the camera.

Browsing the Fort Tryon Shop

And when the mood called for something a little more like retail therapy, our in house Fort Tryon Shop opened its doors. Racks of clothing, tables of shoes, jewelry, and accessories were laid out for residents to browse at their own pace, pink cowgirl hats and matching bandanas included. It’s always fun to watch residents pick out their favorites.
